Crufts & Events
We are very lucky that our volunteers and dogs are often invited to represent the charity at events such as Crufts, All About Dogs and Dogfest. Tickets are very limited and we always try to get a diverse mix of dogs representing us. If you would like to attend Crufts or any other event, please read the information below and apply for tickets using the link at the bottom.
Applying to Attend Crufts with TDN
When applying, it’s important to include your name, email address, mobile number, details of your dog(s), and the dates and times you are available to attend.
Crufts: The World’s Greatest Dog Show
Crufts takes place every March at the NEC in Birmingham. It’s known as the World’s Greatest Dog Show and is four days of fun, fundraising, and awareness—the biggest event in our charity’s social calendar.
Showcasing Therapy Dogs Nationwide
Crufts is the perfect opportunity to highlight the incredible work we do, connect with the public, and recruit more volunteers and therapy dogs to our growing community.
Our Presence at the Show
We have a large and visible presence at Crufts, including:
– Dogs featured on the Kennel Club’s Bark & Read stand
– Participation in the Therapy Dog Parade in the Good Citizen Dog Scheme ring
– Fundraising and promotion on partnering trade stands throughout the show
Be Prepared: Crufts Can Be Overwhelming
While it’s a wonderful event, Crufts can be overwhelming—for both dogs and humans. Expect:
– Large crowds and tight spaces
– Noise, bustle, and a busy environment
– People approaching and touching your dog without asking
Is Your Dog Suited for Crufts?
Your dog might thrive in nursing homes or busy school visits, but Crufts is a different environment. Please think carefully about your dog’s comfort and wellbeing before applying.
Limited Availability and Application Process
We typically have a small number of dog and handler tickets available each year. If you’re confident your dog can handle the Crufts environment and you’d like to represent Therapy Dogs Nationwide, keep checking this page for updates and availability.
By applying for dog and handler tickets, you agree to the following:
1. You will be in full uniform whilst representing the charity, this is a TDN polo shirt, black skirt or trousers and black shoes (we suggest comfy shoes as you will be on your feet for most of the day.)
2. Your dog will be in full uniform whilst representing the charity, this is a TDN flat collar and TDN lead and TDN bandana and/or coat, both old and new styles are acceptable. We will also accept plain black or yellow martingale type collars, if in doubt, please check beforehand.
3. You will send a photo of both you and your dog in full uniform with this application. Applications without photos will not be accepted or followed up.
Your dog will be clean and tidy as befitting the occasion.
If you intend to represent TDN in the Therapy Dog Parade, both you and your dogs will be in full uniform, no bags, coats etc. are permitted at this time.
You will check in on the TDN stand (3/63) on arrival and let us know when you are leaving.
You will collect for a minimum of 4 hours per day on behalf of the charity. This may or may not be on the TDN stand, we may ask you to collect on one of our partner stands.
You will refer all press enquiries to one of the Trustees.
You will ensure the welfare of your dog is not compromised and that you will allow time for breaks.
There will be a small cupboard on the stand for coats and hand bags, but no large items will be stored there. All items must be collected at the end of each day and no responsibility can be taken for items left there.
You agree that any photos taken can be used for social media.
